The band first got together in the summer of 2002 for a competition at the CNE under the name "Onset".The band consisted of Paul Godfrey,Chino De villa, Ian De villa, and singer Marck Robillard. There was a new spark with "Onset" which led them to the finals in the Cne competiton at the bandshell. In the new year the decision was made to form a new band without Mark. In January 2003 Paul, Ian, Chino, teamed up with Eric Allard and Calos Menegussi. The band was complete and was better than ever but they needed a name. The band after months of being several names finally decided to be called "this". The importance is in the music not in the name. The band continued to practise and performed at many venues in 2003. Some venues included The Silver Dollar,Katherdral,The Rockit,The Black Swan, and The CNE. In late September the guitarist Carlos left the band to pursue educational goals. This lost a great guitar player but strived onwards. In January 2004 "this" began recording their first four songs of their seft titled album at Wanted Productions. In Febuary the band played first round of Emergenza which is an international music festival. "This" was well recieved by the loud audience at the Kathedral and advance to the second round. At Canadian Music Week "this" performed at the Black Bull Tavern and had a memorable show. The singer Paul Godfrey also has a solo track "Halfway" featured on the CMW compilation disc. The song is now performed by "this" and was re recorded at Wanted Productions. The band continues to perform live around the Toronto area and will be hosting a charity event on April 30th 2004 at The Black Swan donating to the War Child Foundation. The first four songs are now complete and will be handed out at live performances. In the summer "this" will be featured on "daytime" talk show and the band is waiting on response from "the Toronto show".
